Fillings/Restorative
A “filling” is the process of restoring either function or aesthetic to the tooth. It can involve removing the infection (caries) from a tooth or simply change the way a tooth looks or feels. Dr. Ben’s approach involves talking through the procedure with the patient beforehand and restoring it in a way such that all infection (if present) is removed, the tooth looks good and your bite feels great.
Crowns
Dental crowns can be prescribed for esthetics or function. An esthetic crown will improve the look of your teeth. A functional crown is typically recommended when the natural tooth has lost its ability to function fully due to many fillings, wear and tear or other trauma.
Cleaning and Prevention
At Elemental dental, we focus on holistic oral health and regular cleanings and preventative care. By visiting the hygienist and dentist regularly, you lower your risk of serious dental concerns and increase chances that minor issues are caught early.
Bridges
This is a procedure that may be recommended for you if you have teeth that have been heavily restored in the past with dental fillings and crowns or other restorative procedures.
Dentures
Dentures are a tool for dentists to help patients restore the looks of the teeth they once had or may have never had as well as the ability to function and chew effectively. Functionality is a primary motivating factor for Dr Ben as he believes your quality of life is affected by your ability to chew and eat foods that you want to eat.
Gum disease
Gum disease is one of the most prevalent diseases in North America and is responsible for many individuals experiencing tooth loss and extractions in their lifetime.
Ortho/Invisalign
If you’ve ever been self-conscious about having a smile that you’re not completely happy with, aligner treatment may be a good option for you. Depending on the complexity of the individual and the outcomes and goals you want to achieve with your final smile result, aligner therapy such as Invisalign can last anywhere from a few months to over a year.
New patients
At Elemental Dental in Port Coquitlam, your new patient exam is the first step in creating that relationship. It’s not just a check-up—it’s a comprehensive, personalized assessment of your oral health, medical history, lifestyle habits, and future goals.
Root Canal
Infection can cause intense pain, swelling, and sometimes even a small bump or pimple-like lesion on the gums called a dental abscess.
If you experience these symptoms, root canal therapy may be recommended to save your tooth and eliminate the infection. Alternatively, extraction may be necessary if the tooth cannot be saved.
